New Praise for ‘Living A Miracle, We All Do… Every Day’

Living A Miracle, We All Do... Every Day

I’m pleased to share with you the latest critique of my eBook,
‘Living A Miracle,
We All Do… Every Day’

“Few people have to endure
what the author of this book did.
After an accident,
she had to learn to go to the bathroom again, learn to walk.
Her challenges are the basis of an inspirational book that contains life lessons for all of us,
even those who don’t face what she faced.
The author doesn’t wallow in self-pity or use easy platitudes,
one of the great lines of the book is that she’s the ‘Rodney Dangerfield’ of spirituality.
Her sense of humor and the accessible language she lays it all out in,
makes a reader feel as though her lessons
ARE for each of us and puts it in plain terms.
The sub-title of the book, ‘We All Do’ should be a sign to anyone who picks it up
that there will be information to help lead the life
we are intended to live.
At some points, the book is almost free-form verse,
a poetic ode to the strength of people,
how we’re all different and
how we can all find ways to cope.”

Boys and Cars and Birthday Parties !

Courtesy of The Trenches

It’s that time of year again!

While most people are planning holiday festivities,
our family is planning a birthday party.

Holiday babies present a special problem.
From the moment my son was born, a week before Christmas,
everyone instilled in me how important it was to
‘Make His Birthday Special!!’

So every year the question comes up-
What do we do for a birthday party?
And every year it gets harder, because they are getting bigger,
and even a teensy bit cynical sometimes.

This year proved to be the toughest yet, my son’s 10th birthday party….

How to entertain 15 10-year-old boys for 2 hours?

And the answer came out of the mouths of babes….

My son heard about a new place that opened up for parties,
a simple little warehouse….

So how could a little warehouse, with no decorations,
appeal to a bunch of little boys that are starting to get big?

It couldn’t. Unless this little warehouse was filled with…

VIDEO GAMES!

Yes, you heard me right. A video game party.
The little warehouse we went to is called The Trenches.
And for a reasonable fee, you rent the whole place for 2 hours.
You get the whole place to yourself,
and there are tons of video games and they are all free-
no tokens, no tickets,
JUST PRESS START.

The place had old-time arcade games, new ones, Xboxes, and much, much more.
So the boys get to run around and play games,
have the whole place to themselves,
and just take breaks for pizza and birthday cake.

You’re done. The boys LOVED this. This was the easiest birthday party ever!

I believe that this is the next up-and-coming trend in birthday parties.
I have heard that these are popping up around the country,
along with video game buses, so the birthday party can come to you!

How good of an idea is this? I cannot stress how much all the boys LOVED this party!

And to top it all off, I drove my son and a couple of friends to the party in the Cadillac CTS, the 2014 MotorTrend Car of the Year.
And the boys thought it was so cool!

In other words, Mom saves the day, and makes the birthday special, for another year….

Yey Mom!

Happy Birthday to all the Holiday Babies out there!!!!

I’m in love… with the Chevy Camaro !

I’m in love… with the Chevy Camaro. And with this little guy too, but I digress.

When I got behind the wheel of this 426 horsepower V8 powered MACHINE, i forgot about my Mercedes, I forgot about my husband’s BMW… this car is about power and acceleration and I freely admit: I HAD A BALL DRIVING THIS CAR AROUND TOWN FOR A WEEK!!

I’d recommend this car to ANYONE; this is not your mom’s Camaro (if in fact, your mother happen to have a Camaro)- it’s fast and handles well and turns on a dime… and most importantly for us moms… IT IS BEAUTIFUL, just BEAUTIFUL.  We got the chance thanks to the great people at GM (who appreciate Moms and want to know what we are thinking and paying attention to) to drive this for a week and… we already miss it.

Thank you General Motors for making one little guy’s week… he and his friend who I picked up from a birthday party decided on the ride home that their first cars… would be Camaros.

Not too shabby on the building of Brand Loyalty, Chevy….

Well Played :)

I have to say we have never gone in better style- we went in an ‘Inferno Orange’ Camaro Convertible and it was incredible.

Boloco, Globally - inspired Burritos So I don’t do a lot of GiveAways….
BUT, a few weeks ago my son asked me if we could go to ‘Boloco’ and try a ‘Globally – Inspired’ Burrito. They just opened a location by our house, so I said, “Sure, why not?”
And it was a great experience!
I got a salad and my son got a burrito, because they offer their creations in a burrito, or a bowl (I LOVE THIS!) ….
A few days later, Boloco contacted me about trying their food, along with a leader in the tofu business, Nasoya, and would I like to do a GiveAway for my readers ????
…. KARMA ? ….
So I said, “YES!” Because you don’t mess with the Universe like that; plus I learned that Boloco is partnering with Nasoya to make some of their recipes in their restaurants and this creates healthy alternatives for the burrito chain (I LOVE THIS!).
I’m already a big tofu fan and I can honestly say that Nasoya tofu is in my refrigerator right now.
We’ve gone back since and my husband even likes Boloco and he’s generally not a fan of burritos and overly-filling food; BUT that is what is great about Boloco, in my opinion, you can get healthy choices at this burritos joint (I LOVE THIS!).
So try it out !!
They have numerous locations in New England and one in Bethesda and one in the District-
but don’t take my word for it-
ENTER THE GIVEAWAY FOR A $10 GIFTCARD AND A COUPON FOR FREE NASOYA TOFU!!

Just Leave a Comment telling me and Boloco what you like about their restaurants or their menu… it’s that easy…
GO AND LEAVE A COMMENT NOW !!

You have til midnight Friday, July 19th !!

GOOD LUCK !!

I will choose the winner with RANDOM.ORG and then contact the winner this weekend! I will ask you for your address so Boloco can send you your giftcard… and free tofu coupon !!

The bottom of Georgetown

Here’s a shot of us driving toward the

bottom of Georgetown

and the Georgetown Waterfront!

We decided to take the Cadillac XTS

out to brunch

and enjoyed wonderful food at Sequoia,

that has the best views in Washington!

A view from our table; See the Kennedy Center on the left ?!

The weather was perfect!

You can’t beat Washington

on Memorial Day Weekend

when the weather is like this,

and with an easy way to get around-

you can’t ask for anything more.

So, after our family thoroughly enjoyed

a wonderful meal,

we went back to the Caddie,

and look how easy it fit

into garage parking!

Easy Parking!

This was a tight garage,

in the middle of Georgetown,

and the Cadillac XTS

took it in stride;

Its maneuverability is great!

After brunch we visited

The US Marine Corps War Memorial

US Marine Corps War Memorial

in honor of Memorial Day Weekend

and ended our afternoon with

trips to Farmers Markets

in Palisades

as well as

Bethesda.

Touring around the city is delightful

in the Cadillac XTS.  I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday with the family!

Palisades Farm Market

Happy Memorial Day Weekend !!!

Pike Central Farm Market

We continued our Green Weekend with the Cadillac XTS by going to the Pike Central Farm Market!
We were greeted right away by one of the Founders, Mitch Berliner,

Mitch Berliner

then continued to all the fantastic booths!
We found salami,
cheeses,
and fruits
to take home!
Yum!

The Cadillac was wonderful, it was so easy to use, even my son could load our bag into the trunk by himself!

We had a wonderful day and ended it by having dinner at one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants- Cafe Deluxe in downtown Bethesda. This family dinner place gets its poultry and dairy from nearby farmers!
