We made it 3 weeks before purple grape juice spilled all over…

juice   Well, we made it 3 weeks in this household before purple grape juice was spilled all over my son’s brand new, white, uniform shirt…

3 THINGS I’VE LEARNED IN 3 WEEKS FROM WEARING UNIFORMS TO SCHOOL:

     *    Suggest that your son change out of his uniform when he gets home from school

     *     If he is tired and doesn’t want to- ‘make it a rule’ that he changes out of his uniform, when he gets home from school

     *     Have a BIG bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide on hand, at all times, to get out stains (I do.  And Hydrogen Peroxide does get ANYTHING out of clothes.  You may have to soak the shirt, etc. in a bowl, but the stain WILL come out.).

**  Note:  I realize this picture is not of grape juice, it looks more like cranberries and cranberry juice, but I couldn’t find grape juice images on the internet… Who knew grape juice images were so rare?

Thoughts and Advice on StumpleUpon, Share on Facebook and del.icio.us

computer.jpg     Happy Monday, Internet Gurus!

I’ve already added StumbleUpon to my site (as you can see below) and I’m in the process of adding ‘Share On Facebook’ and ‘add to del.icio.us’…

Any advice out there?  I was going to add Digg, but after some research, I think it may be for more newsy sites.

Do you like another service- like Kirtsy, for example?

Please let me know!

You can leave a comment here or in the ‘Contact Me’ section.

Thanks for your time!

Quotable Friday     “I never tried quitting, and I never quit trying.”

Dolly Parton

I love Dolly Parton.  She’s an inspiration for women everywhere.

She’s an incredibly smart businesswoman, a beautiful singer AND she writes all her own songs,

plus, she does it her way.

Thanks to GuruBob on Twitter for tweeting this great quote!

He’s part of the 30 Day Challenge (it’s 30 days to a better website or blog- and it’s free).

I’m doing it!

Total Bliss: My First Trip EVER To Target… BY MYSELF!

Target Logo   Where are the words?  How does one begin to explain bliss?

A calmness, an unhurriedness (I don’t think that’s a word- but it should be)…   I just took my first trip to Target by myself… I mean EVER!

I had time to look for things,

I made a list,

I stocked up paper supplies for the house- toilet paper, paper towels, napkins (Paper supplies are always less expensive at Target)!

I bought myself a new curling iron: I’ve been meaning to do that for MONTHS!

I found a great pair of pajama pants that I ACTUALLY GOT TO TRY ON!

I bought my son a polo shirt with Bears on it (his favorite animal) for $7.99,

I saw 3 moms I knew there!

I told 1 of them that it was my first trip to Target By Myself, to which she smiled and replied,

“Enjoy!”

I was literally= giddy.

It’s the little things in life, isn’t it?

Go To The Beach This Time of Year!

Bethany Beach Doesn’t this look idyllic? It was.
This past weekend we spent at the beach! It was beautiful weather. Wonderful friends of ours gave us the keys to their beach house and we had a fantastic time.
Consider going down to the Eastern Shore this time of year- Bethany Beach, Dewey, Rehoboth Beach;
things are still open, the weather is nice, and every shop is having a sale.
And rates are much less than ‘high season’.
Consider it for the spring too-
It’s a short drive from DC and a nice ‘getaway’.

BONUS: There are outlets in Rehoboth and right after the Bay Bridge :)

Quotable Friday     Another Friday!

Today, a great quote by Robert Browning, brought to my attention by that fabulous-

mom, mom-blogger, teacher, all-around-cute-mom,

Amy from Teach Mama.

“Grow old along with me. The best is yet to be.”
Robert Browning

And how appropriate?  This weekend my husband and I celebrate our anniversary!

We’re all busy raising our children, let’s not forget our spouses.

apiss I’m continuing my Shout-Outs today to tell you about a FANTASTIC RESOURCE for parents in the DC Metro Area.  It’s A Parent In Silver Spring.

This site gives you TONS of stuff to do in the DC Area.

It’s written by a fellow DC Metro Mom Contributor.

I frankly don’t know when this woman sleeps,

but she does, because she is super sweet and always looks great when I see her :)

ENJOY!
