Mom, The Word ‘Please’ is not Magic

My Son: “Mom, the word, ‘Please’ is not a magic word.”

ME: “People say it’s magic because if you ask someone nicely to do something,

they’ll usually do it.”

My Son: “But it’s not magic.”

ME: “Where did you learn that?”

My Son: “We all decided it… at camp.”

Ya never know what they are going to learn at camp…

  2. Yes, he’s right! “Please” is not magic! “Abracadabra” is a magic word, my son says. My son is four. “Mom, can you see in the dark?” he asked me one day. “No,” I replied. “Well, I can see in the dark because I have real eyes.” Reading between the lines, I deduced he must think I don’t have real eyes. I’m now wondering what kind of eyes I do have.
