THE LITTLE HAT GIVEAWAY!

It’s a hot summer here in DC… and humid.

Did I mention humid? Ah, but that’s what DC is known for, right? We’re merely fulfilling destiny and giving people what they want…

But I digress.

Anywhere you are it’s imperative to keep your little kiddies protected from the sun. Sunscreen is essential. I like to use the SPF 50 on my son. My little guy also has 3 pairs of sunglasses and (thankfully) loves to wear them.

But most importantly, it’s good to get the little ones used to wearing hats. My little one loves baseball caps, which are great for shielding little faces from the sun.

However, after a look at the The Little Hat Company website and taking a gander at all their adorable hats for boys and girls, I had to contact them and they’ve graciously agreed to sponsor a contest!

Leave a comment on anything you do to keep your little ones safe from the sun. That’s it.

A winner will be selected at random on July 31st. I’ll then contact the winner by email and you can pick out your favorite hat and the size you want and The Little Hat Company will send it to you.

It’s that easy!

In the meantime, check out The Little Hat Company to look at some adorable hats.

I’m so glad I found out about this company…

Thank You to Andrea’s Recipes for putting them on my radar!

  2. Thanks for the mention! :-)

Because we spend a fair amount of time at the pool, we got swim shirts for the boys that block out the UV rays. They are great!

  4. Mustella’s factor 50 for babies is a must in this hot weather. My baby has sensitive skin and it is truly hypoallergenic – unlike other brands that claim to be (eg. Neutrogena) that typically give her a rash.

  8. We just bought them the long sleeved swimsuits to protect them. I was afraid they’d be too hot but if they’re playing in water, they’re just fine.

  10. These hats are so adorable! I don’t have kids, but I do have a sweet niece. My brother keeps her out of the sun as much as possible, but when she does go out, she has to wear a little hat and sunscreen.

  12. I love the Sweet Charity big kid (6-7 yrs) size, my daughter loves pink! And had to read about them too, and found out they are a few hours away! Wonderful hats, such cute designs!

  14. Ohmygoodness! The hats are so adorable!
The strawberry patch hat just made me burst out laughing! It’s so cute!

I have a little niece and I try to make playtime in parks where trees (and shade) are plenty. And I teach her to apply some sunscreen whenever we leave home.

  16. I use the Mustella’s baby sunscreen too. It works great! I use it on my own face too.I put it on in the AM after her bath so she is protected all day.

  18. We call our daughter “a sunburn waiting to happen.” Yep, she got my pasty-white skin. SPF 50+ is the way to go… but a new hat would be even better!

  20. so cute!

Michael always gets mad at me b/c I make him where a hat and I never do. I’m so bad!

  22. Fun sunglasses and play hats to pull from the dress up chest….and even little gloves (they usually take off pretty fast) work. Even little cowboy hats can work…all as a protective shield. At the pool Dora T-Shirts work wonders…and of course placing the little play area in the shade…even the portable kiddie pool in the shade works great.

  24. We have a family history of skin cancer and I have some mutinous moles and my older son burns in about 3 seconds, so we always, always wear SPF 50 or more, and my boys have swim shirts to help. We don’t mess around with the sun.

Now if I could just figure out how to get my baby to keep his hats on…

  26. those are the cutest hats i’ve seen. that strawberry one is so adorable! i know that sunshine is essential for our little ones but too much is bad. i keep my daughter out of the sun from 10am – 2pm, i just sunscreen on her if we are going to be out for a long time, and we find parks that have lots of shade!

  28. I buy that ridiculously expensive no-rub spray-on sunscreen, because I hate putting sunscreen on my kids.
